VodafoneThree successfully boosts network capacity in Brixham, Devon
Brixham has recently received a 30% uplift in network capacity thanks to the creation of VodafoneThree, courtesy of additional radio spectrum being made available through the merging of the two businesses.
Welcome to Brixham. The picturesque coastal town, located on the south coast of Devon, is England's largest fishing port. Home to a permanently-moored replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship, ’Golden Hind', it’s a popular stop for those visiting the South Coast, whether they're in search of history, fish and chips or simply some elusive UK sunshine.
Now, however, there's another reason for residents and tourists alike to celebrate. As a result of additional radio spectrum being made available, Vodafone and Three customers can enjoy faster and more reliable connectivity, making it easier than ever to share experiences on social media, stay connected with friends and family, or search for local restaurants and attractions.
Given the town's popularity, especially during the warm summer months, this increased capacity will help prevent the network congestion issues often experienced in coastal towns as tourists flock to Britain's stunning coastline.
Not only that, but the upgrade will be transformative for businesses in Brixham too, delivering enhanced connectivity and increased capacity to help power more efficient operations. With improved network performance, businesses can use digital tools like electronic Point of Sale (ePOS) systems, while streamlining customer service and strengthening their online presence to boost brand visibility.
By leveraging these advanced digital tools and services, companies can drive growth, enhance competitiveness, and unlock new opportunities in an increasingly connected world. In short, that means a more vibrant local economy and more happy customers.
Andrea Dona, Chief Network Officer, VodafoneThree, said: "Tourism and hospitality play a pivotal role in boosting local economies across the UK, particularly in rural and coastal areas like Brixham. It is crucial that we continue to upgrade our network in every corner of the nation to ensure customers receive the same connectivity experience, regardless of whether they are in a major city or a rural coastal town.
"This recent uplift in network capacity means that, whether you’re visiting Brixham on holiday or you live or work in the area all year round, you’ll have access to faster and more reliable connectivity. This means smoother streaming and quicker downloads for consumers, as well as equal access to digital tools to boost productivity and growth for local businesses - ultimately providing a much better online experience for our customers."
This is just the beginning of VodafoneThree's commitment to delivering a new era of connectivity. With an £11 billion investment over eight years, VodafoneThree will be able to build a network that transforms the nation, delivering more reliable, quality connectivity to all corners of the UK.
