Vodafone Business, the enterprise arm of VodafoneThree, today launches Vodafone SuperMobile for Business, a new enterprise-grade mobile connectivity portfolio anchored by the UK’s first national, business-only 5G+ slice of a mobile network.
- The new National Business Slice reserves dedicated 5G+ capacity for enterprise customers, separating business traffic from consumer demand.
- Businesses can benefit from up to 4x faster speeds* than standard plans and committed performance targets, helping keep critical work moving even in busy places.
- Vodafone Business will also launch a dedicated National Critical Slice for blue light organisations, providing priority connectivity for first responders and critical public services.
The National Business Slice gives businesses access to dedicated capacity on The Nations Network**, separating business traffic from consumer demand. It is designed to give organisations greater confidence that their people, applications and critical workflows can stay connected and productive, even in some of the busiest places at the busiest times.
Businesses can benefit from up to 4x faster speeds and a minimum download speed of 15mbps***, giving organisations assurance over their mobile needs.
The mobile network is now the workplace
For millions of people, work now happens wherever they are – from busy transport hubs and customer sites to high streets and other high-demand locations. But as businesses rely more heavily on mobile connectivity, inconsistent performance can mean missed customer calls, delayed field work or disrupted access to critical applications.
The National Business Slice is designed to solve this by giving businesses a dedicated performance layer for mobile traffic, separating it from consumer demand to provide dedicated capacity, assured performance and committed performance targets. It works directly with many standard compatible business handsets****, so employees can access the benefits without specialist equipment.
The service delivers measurable performance and business dedicated uplink and downlink capabilities to support demanding workflows such as real-time reporting, video collaboration, field operations and data-intensive applications.
Building a portfolio around how businesses work
The National Business Slice anchors Vodafone SuperMobile for Business, which brings together a portfolio of enterprise-grade mobile connectivity propositions designed around different business requirements. It will also be supported by Network Boost, so when a customer moves into an area without 5G+ coverage, their traffic can still be prioritised on VodafoneThree’s public network rather than the dedicated business slice.
The National Business Slice is joined by 5G+ Local Slicing, another UK-first proposition launched earlier this year, which delivers a contracted level of performance at specific locations. This is particularly suited to high-density environments such as entertainment venues, travel hubs and logistics sites, where organisations need greater control and visibility over connectivity.
National Critical Slice for Blue Light organisations and Critical National Infrastructure
Vodafone Business will also launch a dedicated National Critical Slice for blue light organisations and critical public services next year. Built on VodafoneThree’s 5G Standalone network, it will provide priority connectivity and assured performance for first responders and other organisations delivering mission-critical services.
The National Critical Slice is designed to support applications where reliable, low-latency connectivity can make a meaningful difference – helping emergency services access the information and digital tools they need when they need them, supporting faster decision-making and better outcomes for the communities they serve.
Together, the National Business Slice, 5G+ Local Slicing and National Critical Slice create a new approach to business connectivity: one network, configured around how organisations actually operate.
“Business mobile has traditionally offered the same connectivity experience as consumers, despite organisations increasingly relying on mobile for critical work, customer service and frontline operations. With Vodafone SuperMobile for Business, we’re changing that. We’re giving businesses performance built around how they work, on a National Business Slice that delivers dedicated capacity, assured performance and committed performance targets. Alongside our National Critical Slice for CNI and blue light organisations, it shows how 5G Standalone can deliver a new standard of priority, resilience and business-critical connectivity across the UK, supporting our ambition to make Vodafone the nation’s network for business.”
Nick Gliddon, Business Director, VodafoneThree
Vodafone Business is already working with several organisations to assess how Vodafone SuperMobile for Business can support their mobile workforces, operational requirements and customer experience. These include British Airways, Cadent Gas, Centrica, Co-op Live, Manchester Airports Group, Loganair, TATA Steel and UK Power Networks.
Powered by VodafoneThree’s combined network
The National Business Slice and National Critical Slice are the latest enterprise propositions built on the combined VodafoneThree network and forms part of the company’s £11bn commitment to build the UK’s best network over the next decade.
Vodafone Business is making Vodafone SuperMobile for Business available to organisations of all sizes, from sole traders and small businesses through to large enterprises.
Vodafone SuperMobile is also available to small businesses with one-to-nine employees with the Vodafone SuperMobile plan for Business, on the national consumer slice, from an additional £3 per month (inc. VAT).
Larger organisations will use the National Business Slice on Vodafone SuperMobile for Business, with interested customers able to speak to an expert now.
To help organisations maximise the benefits of the National Business Slice, Vodafone Business is also expanding its Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) proposition. Following the July launch of DaaS, which provides smartphone and tablet leasing alongside lifecycle management for a single monthly fee, new bundles will see DaaS paired with Vodafone SuperMobile for Business tariffs, giving businesses managed devices and the best network experience in one agreement.
Vodafone’s 5G+ is the UK’s fastest 5G+ network*****, delivering superior speeds compared with other major providers. Business customers will need 5G+ eligible devices to access.
