Tree-mendous mobile coverage improvements in time for Christmas

Fab-yule-ously named locations across the UK now have better mobile coverage thanks to VodafoneThree's Multi-Operator Core Network technology upgrades.

Christmas-themed parts of the country are benefiting from mobile coverage improvements from VodafoneThree as Vodafone and Three customers start to use each other’s 4G and 5G networks, at no extra cost.

Over 8,000 network sites across the UK have already been upgraded by VodafoneThree, meaning customers in some of the UK’s most festively-named locations, including Christmas Steps in the centre of Bristol, Frost Street in Wolverhampton and Chestnut Road in Lambeth, are now benefitting from 5G on both Vodafone and Three. Meanwhile, Turkey Island in Horndean, Hampshire, and King Street in Hammersmith now have strong and reliable Vodafone and Three 4G coverage thanks to these recent improvements.

Other locations now enjoying the best available coverage as a result of this network sharing include: the small Cheshire hamlet of Wirswall; the village of Ardentinny on the shores of Loch Long (Argyll & Bute); the Cornish town of Helston; tourist hotspots such as Blackpool, Bournemouth, Bradford-on-Avon, Shanklin and Windsor; as well as our biggest cities including Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Southampton and London. Perfect for getting away from it all on a Christmas staycation, the traditional visit to the Christmas market, that last bit of online shopping or just checking out the traffic reports before the big journey home.

All of this is part of a UK-wide £11 billion investment programme, announced by VodafoneThree in June 2025. The key commitment is the rollout of 5G Standalone (5G SA) to 99% of the UK population by 2030, and to 99.96% by 2034.

So, wherever customers are this festive season, VodafoneThree is ensuring they have the best possible coverage. During Christmas and beyond.
